The vast majority of computers using Windows OS are missing the connectors necessary to access MYSQL servers, such as the Aurora Data Center database. There are two versions of MySQL Installers available for Windows. Which you choose is dependent not on WINDOWS but on the version of WORD installed on your machine.

While most of the computers used by our customer base are running 64-bit version of Windows, the vast majority are still using a 32-bit version of Word. To repeat, it is the version of WORD that determines the version of ODBC Connector you'll want. You can determine the version of Word installed on your machine by opening Word, then clicking File>Account>About Word. The crucial information is the last item in the very first line at the top of the page will say either "32-bit" or "64-bit."

For 32-bit versions of Word, use the attachment to this article named mysql-connector-odbc-8.0.16-win32

For 64-bit versions of Word, use the attachment to this article named mysql-connector-odbc-8.0.16-winx64

Less than 15% of computers will pop a warning during ODBC installation that an additional program ("Redistributable") is necessary for the ODBC to run. If that happens, download and install the attached file vc_redist.x64.
