When you need to include a graphic in repetitious forms, perhaps a signature, logo, sketch, rendering, photo, or even a hyperlink, then Passages is the answer. Passages can include any graphic that Word can manage, and it is easy to build a searchable reference so that the graphic you need can be uploaded as necessary.

Inserting Images via Folios Instead of Master Lists in Doxserá

Objective:

To demonstrate how to insert images (such as a signer's photo) into a document using folios, since master lists only support plain text.

Key Concepts and Workflow

1. Limitations of Master Lists

Available in all TheFormTool products (TheFormTool PRO, Doxserá, Doxserá DB).

Useful for inserting names, emails, phone numbers.

Do not support formatting or images (e.g., bold text, hyperlinks, footnotes, photos).

2. Solution: Use a Folio

Folios are only available in Doxserá and Doxserá DB.

Capable of including formatted text and images.

Each passage can include personalized content for individuals, including photos.

3. Creating and Populating a Folio

Create a new folio (Sources > Folios > +) named something like Attorney SIGS.

Add passages for each signer (e.g., Herb Blount, Gretel Purcell, Anne Smith).

In each passage:

Include formatted contact info.

Insert the individual’s photo by:

Dragging it into position.

Setting Wrap Text to “In Front of Text.”

Adjusting size and position.

Ensuring the anchor is attached to a paragraph within the passage.

Locking the anchor (Right-click > Format Picture > Layout > Advanced > Lock Anchor).

4. Modifying the Form to Use the Folio

Replace the smart answer that previously used a master list with one that pulls passage names from the folio.

Use a fetcher code to insert the appropriate passage from the folio based on the selected name.

5. Testing the Result

Run the form.

Choose a signer (e.g., Gretel) using the updated smart answer interface.

Click Fill—the document populates with the selected signer’s full info including their photo.

Key Takeaways:

Master Lists = Text Only.

Folios = Text + Images + Formatting.

Use folios when images or complex formatting are needed in reusable content.

Anchoring and locking images properly is essential to ensure they are inserted with their associated passage.
