Form creators are sometimes misled by the terminology when selecting a List-type answer or a Choice-type answer in the Smart Answer screen. "If I want to give the form user a list of choices, isn't that a List-type answer?" Well, no, it's not.
List-type answers are used only when you want the form user to list several items in response to a single question (such as "List all the shareholders" or "List the creditors" or "List the will maker's children").
Choice-type answers are used in all other cases (such as "Choose the county of residence" or "Which of these optional paragraphs should be included?" or "What type of entity is the company?"). Even though a list of choices is provided, it's still a Choice-type answer.
When in doubt, look at the Preview area in the bottom right corner of the Smart Answer screen -- it always gives a clear picture of the Smart Answer you're building.
